Idols Cannot Save Men
Updated: Oct 25, 2018
When I was in younger my goal was to one day be like Vanessa Hudgens or as i knew her back then Gabriella Montez. Are you surprised? Didn’t almost every girl wanted to be just like her? I mean didn`t every first grader want to date Zac Efron. Think back to when you were in first grade. Who was your Idol? Or who is your Idol? In this Blog I will be talking about having a different kind of Idol, I like to call it a spiritual leader. Not an Idol like Vanessa Hudgens but someone you see as a leader and influencer in your life.
A spiritual leader is someone you look up to for who they are and for what they have been through with their strong faith. For example, my mother is my biggest Idol. Not because of the way she looks, although she is gorgeous. Not because she is married to my father, although he is an amazing husband and father. Instead, she is my Idol because my mother is one of the sweetest and most carrying people you will ever meet. A person that will no matter what always have your back. Someone who takes every possible possibility to share the gospel, and truly loves the Lord. She leads me in the Spirit and is always there for me, my spiritual leader.
Do y’all see the difference between the Idol we have, as we are young and a spiritual leader? I believe it is wrong to have an Idol because you should want to be the way God made you and know this is how he loves you. On the other hand, I think everyone should have a spiritual leader.
Do you have one? Do you have a person you can always talk to? Someone that leads you in Christ? If you do not please feel free to email me at any time if you have questions or just need someone to talk to.
