7 Things to Repair/ Prevent Dry Hair

Healthy hair is very important to most girls, including me! To keep this introduction short, I put some personal tips together I love to use on my hair to prevent it from drying out as well as repair the dried ends of my hair. So let’s get started...

Hair Wash

Washing your hair too often will cause it to become dry, which leads your hair to get greasy faster. I used to have to wash my hair at least every second day because it got greasy. I started training my hair and used dry shampoo instead of washing it frequently. Now I like to wash my hair twice a week and use dry shampoo on other days.

Shampoo and Conditioner

Using good quality hair products, including shampoo and conditioner, is very important. My personal favorite shampoo and conditioner brands are Redken and Matrix. I like to make sure it is sodium/ sulfate free :) PS: Only apply conditioner on the ends so your hair will have volume on top and not fall heavy.

Treat Your Ends

The most common place for hair to dry up are the ends. The ends are the hair that have been through the most, therefore it is important to treat them extra good. There are a lot of great products on the market, but I personally like to apply coconut oil on my wet ends. Occasionally, I will apply some on my dry hair to keep them from frizzing out and to give them an extra treatment.

PS: For extra treatment, do a mask; apply coconut oil, or I like to use @goldclover, at night on your whole head, wrap them in a bun and wash it out in the morning.

Blow Drying

Keeping your blow dryer on medium to low heat keeps your hair from over-drying. For the last couple seconds, I like to put the heat on cool to set my wanted styled look.

Heat Protection

Most of us know that we should apply sunscreen on our skin before we get in contact with the sun but we never think about protecting our hair. My hair stylist @kayleejarrettstylist taught me that sunlight is just like heat from a curler, it dries out the hair if we do not apply any protection. Applying heat protection on your hair before any kind of heat gets on your hair is an important fact of keeping your hair from drying out.

Hydrate Hair Properly

To hydrate my hair, I apply a leave-in conditioner made by Kristin Ess. It softens, strengthens, moisture's, and hydrates the hair. It also leaves your hair with a natural shine, plus it smells amazing!!!

Trim Your Hair

Getting your hair trimmed frequently is a big part of healthy hair. Not only does your hair stay healthy and strong but it grows faster when it gets tripped constantly.

I hope this blog helped some of you ladies that are struggling with dry hair or just want to refresh their hair and give it its deserved attention.
